In our experience, most POD sites are user-friendly and easy to navigate. Most also have very useful Help Centers to assist you if you get stuck.

It is a good idea to look at each company before you decide which one to use, as they each offer a different product range, and require different specifications for uploading the images you want to place on your products. They also each have different pricing structures. Comparing their services will allow you to choose which company suits you best, and which one you will find easiest to use.

If you decide to open your own online store to make money from your art, we also advise that you carefully compare the various options before deciding on which company to use – everyone has different requirements, and different suppliers will suit different people.

CaféPress (USA)

CaféPress is a well established company which offers a wide selection of more than 100 products, all of which you can easily customize with your own designs, including:

T-shirts & other clothing – both white and colored apparel
Accessories (bags & hats)
Office & Housewares (mugs, mousepads, coasters, tile boxes, ornaments and more)
Paper Goods (greeting cards, postcards, calendars, journals & notebooks)

Creating an item on CaféPress is easy: you simply log onto their website by clicking the icon below, click the “Make Your Own” at the top of the page. Then you choose a product (or products) you wish to customize, you upload your image or photograph, and you place your order.

For exact image specifications, you can visit consult their “Help Section” (located at the bottom of each page) and select “Image Help”, which explains all you need to know about creating and uploading images. They also have extra Tips &Tutorials in their Learning Center, including excellent Image Guidelines & Templates.

T-shirts featuring your logo or design can be produced for any group or occasion: bands, sports teams, greeks, family re-unions or business gifts. They do have a minimum order requirement, so be sure to check this out before deciding on which products you are going to design and order… At present, Design-A-Shirt do not offer the option of opening your own online store.
