The Artist, Adriana Guidi...in her own words...
Drawing has always been a passion for me, even when I was a little girl. Art was my favorite subject in elementary school. It took me far away; I’d get so absorbed into what I was drawing, the time flew by.
After finishing high school, I took some basic life drawing classes at L.A. Valley College where I was introduced to drawing from live models. I had an uncle, Victor Amadio, also an artist, who studied under Nicolai Fechin, among others. When we’d go to visit him, we would have mini art sessions where he would take the time to teach me about the structure of the face, perspective and what he had learned from all his teachers. I also had the advantage of instruction from artists and teachers Richard Morris and Michelle Dunaway.

I think what inspires me to create is checking out other artists’ work, whether it’s a trip to Bergamot Station or La Luz de Jesus Gallery. I love the art in Juxtapoz, RebelRodz, Kar Kulture Deluxe, The Artists’ Magazine, Watercolor Artist, Pastel Journal, American Art Review, International Artist magazine, Southwest Art, and many online galleries (such as Dezine Design)…to name a few.
I love the look of a detailed image in a painting, and all around is the suggestion of a background, where your eyes fill in the details.
There are so many artists that are favorites of mine who have inspired me, the list would go on for a while, but they include Richard Morris, Michelle Dunaway, Richard Schmid, Dufy, Fechin, Lipking, VonFranco, Shag, so many more…
